Looking for a sub that will hit hard

i am looking for something that hits hard...i am not planning to change out any of the speakers...i just want to add a sub and amp...

i was thinking of going with one 10" JL W3 or one 10" JL W6...what type of amp should i go with either of these? i'm not looking for anything fancy...merely, something that will give the bose system a lil' extra punch...if there are any other subs that you can think of, please let me know...

my price range for the complete package is $500-1000...
preferrably on the low end...

Best of the best......

JL Audio - W6 or W7
Eclipse - Aluminum or Titanium
Image Dynamics - ID Max

Take your pic.

For some reason the 10W6 (not v2) with a 300watt amp adds the equilvalent of a cell phone vibrator to my system. If I crank the gain past 60%, the sub distorts heavily.

thanks for all the responses....

i'm leaning towards either one 10" JLW6 or one 10" JLW7
i want to go with the W7, but I'm wondering if it's overkill

yeah i have and IDMAX 12 inch v.3 with a JBL 1200.1 amp powering it. The sub hits pretty hard and sounds very clean. I couldn't be happier with it. The only problem is that it is difficult to find a box that can fit the sub, so you might have to make one yourself.

uhm, you should always make a custom enclosure?

I know you should always make a custom enclosure. But depending on how much a person wants to spend or what exactly he is putting in his car, he might choose to go the other way. But yeah, making your own box is the way to go, if at all possible.

to be honest, its probably cheaper to make your own box long as you have a table saw
