Looking for a good in-dash cd changer

I have been to the websites of some aftermarket audio companies, but none of them seem to have any aftermarket 6 disc in-dash changers. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good changers, or a website where I could check some out.
Thanks.

Pioneer makes a 6 disk in dash changer, but it is a single DIN and has to be used in conjunction with a single DIN Pioneer HU. So you can mount one right under the other taking up the space a double DIN would.

I didn't notice it at the website. Is the changer just the actual changer with no controls with the other single din unit being the control unit?

I believe so, somone I knew had it in their car. The unit was a Premier unit which is Pioneers' Acura division. Sorry about that.

$340 for an in-dash changer seems pretty good, but what would go in the other half of the dash since the changer is only single din?

Maybe a flip-out touch screen that will control everything?
Anybody know any prices of such screens?

Nakamichi are one of the best in cd quality too so.

it really depends on what you're looking for...

flip-only should run under $800
flip w/ dvd under $1,500

check your PM

instead of the flip, how about adding a center speaker?

a Kenwood KSC-900CTR...it's the size of a single din... should be around $200...but I don't know where you could get them

those are done by shops...usually you'll need to buy the flip out unit, then the shop will tear it apart and make a custom fit to replace the tray.

Tim (Snook) has that set-up. PM him or e-mail him to find out some info.

I am not familiar with the terms slave and master. If it is master does that mean that the changer has the controls on it, as well as being the radio receptor unit, whereas if it is a slave unit then the changer is one unit and the control unit is another?

but with the brand listed about, yeah I would say Nakamichi IS the MASTER!

lol!

slave meant the use of another unit (usually with tuner) to control the changer, while a master unit does everything all in one chassis (radio, changer, etc).

I got it right.
Looks like maybe I will go with a Nakamichi in-dash changer and MB Quart mid ranges and tweeters with an xtant amp to power the speakers. These are just preliminary thoughts which may change though.
