Light blinking on MTX Amp ?

Anyone has an MTX amp ? I hook up my MTX amp to the car and the "lightning" sign is blinking/flashingand smoke came out from the subs but no sound, anyone knows what is mean ?
I check for ground, power and remote they're all good. Is the amp junk ? I open the amp and not seeing any burn mark in the IC chips,

It's blinking even without the speaker hook up. Tried it in my buddy's car, since he has a system in it already, and it's doing the samething, but his speakers got push out and stays out, but no sound, looks like it's sending a 12v directly to the speakers, not sure if it suppose to do that. But it got to be something wrong with the amp i think.

I would check those subs in youur buddy's car too to make sure they're still working... obviously not a fix for your amp but you at least want to know they still work.

Grab a DMM and check to make sure the amp is outputing an AC signal. Sounds like the signal is DC rather than AC which is not going to be good and is going to break a lot of things. I would not hook up another speaker to this amp until you can verify what's wrong with it.

Oh so the output should be AC signal ? I have to check it out, what is wrong if it's putting out DC instead ? Means the amp is junk right ?

They are still working ok, if we still have them hook up maybe they are toasted by now.

Any one knows exactly how many volts needed for the head unit remote wire to turn on the amp ? 12V or less or more ?

Should be at least 12v. I've noticed mine seem to be up more in the 14v range though.
