keeping stock unit in cl but want amp and subs
I want to keep the stock unit in my cl but want to install my subs and amp. I want to see who is using a RCA converter in the trunk. What kind do you have and is it up to your standers? Also what wires do you have to tap into? Thanks
I have a Line Output Converter (RCA Converter) that I purchased from Circuit City for close to $20.00 and have not had a problem yet. I have the wires for the LOC spliced into the rear speaker wires right before they connect to the 6x9.
You don't get highs in a sub if your crossover is set correctly. The amps should have a built in 1.
A standard line out converter will work just fine. I had a PAC one wired into the rear 6X9's as well. I have my basslink wires there now(basslink has everything built in)
May want too look at at the audio FAQ at the top of the forum as well.

Mine was conneted to one of the fuses (Not sure which one it was with out looking at it) that is located in the fuse box by the passenger side door. Between the passenger door and the glove box.
I hope this helps.
