Just upgraded from Stock
I just did an upgrade on everything but my H/U and anyone who tells you that you NEED to upgrade your H/U is flat out wrong. I wanted to keep mine becuase of the mute feature with the Nav. I put in:
2 Amps, daisy chained with the Stock Bose
1 Alpine V12 500 W continous
1 Memphis Audio 100wx4
For the doors I went with MBQuart Q series 6.5 components
I went with MB Quart 6x9's in the deck
1 single DS Audio competion 10 1000W peak
Alpine MP3 player with converter to stock H/U
2 stiffening Capacitors
This car sounds SICK!!! All you need is the right equipment and the right people to install it and trust me your stock H/U can make our car sound out of this world. My car sounds so good the guys who installed it want to put it into competion for single 10's If you live in NJ, come and listen....
The single DS Audio 10 made the sides of a Hummer vibrate when the bass hit...

Monmouth Stereo in Shrewsbury NJ did the install, they specialize in Home Theaters and High end car audio, when I walked in he was working on a 355 F1, so I figured I was safe with my CLS, they have also done my last two cars exceptionally well. I will post pictures as soon as I get it back. It is in having the springs, strut bar, sway bars and icebox put in right now at Park Ave Acura. I am counting the minutes till they call and tell me to pick it up. Box was made to be 24 inches wide and 13 deep so I can still get to spare tire and it slides right next to stock Bose amp. I originally went with 2 12's and the one 10 is so much cleaner. I had the stock system for 1 1/2 days...

Don't worry... no one will listen. They will insist on putting in an ass conversion kit with their aftermarket unit.
Glad you are happy with your decision.... I love mine too!

I’m glad it worked out for you, and it worked out to your expectations. However, stating that, “anyone who tells you that you NEED to upgrade your H/U is flat out wrong” is just arrogant. This topic is subjective, your system may sound great to you but may sound terrible to another. Just because the installer told you that it sounded good and to enter it in a competition, doesn't quantify it. You should ask them how many customers they have told to enter their cars. People on this site work on their own cars and have pride in sharing their experiences with others. So, show some humility.
