hi all...just gone done with this customers car
its a 2002 acura TL type S...figure i would post a coupla pics
the goals:
good sound quality on a budget
stealth appearance in the trunk while maintaining usability
somehow get the avic-z1 in there
lets get started:
the first challenge of coures it he avic-z1. i couldn find a premade double din kits out there, there are rumors of them but my metra supplier didnt have any..., and there was no budget really to do an all aout custom molded, painted to match dash kit, so i went with the clean route. a custom plate was carely trimmed out, sanded and then covered in black suede...overall, a pretty clean look that doesnt break the bank
next, we arrive at the kick panels. Let me mention here that all components aft of the headunit is by elemental designs
, edi 6500s resides in suede trimmed kicks, nothing fancy. so far, with out any tuning, i am quite impressed by the performance of the 6500s in kicks. imaging is solidly int he middle, midbass is excellent...
also added were a pair of my own line of replacement headrests with 8" LCDs...here you see them in the car off:
here is a close up of one of hte monitors in operations:
both:

and all three screens together throught he wet rear window lol
with htis set up, the front passengers can look at the nav, while hte back can watch a movie
moving on the trunk, like i said, i mentioned that it was a stealth install..so here is what you see when you open the trunk:
pop off the big center vented cover, and a big big well greats you. in the sky blue suede lined well resides two nine-2xes, crossovers for hte edis, and a single 11ov2 10" sub
overall, i am quite satisfied with the sound qualiyt of this sytem, its clean, loud and great imaging staging. what really impresses me is the 11ov2, such a small sub, yet able to fill such a big car through the rear deck with solid bass, hair moving bass...truly impressive...
questions and comments welcome

I would feel sad for those kick panels in my car.. I know I'd kick the hell out of them..

Have a loyal customer base with www.my350z.com and a few other forums...my whole thing is good sound quality, clean look, at a price MUCH lower than a high end shop, and i take my time one car at a time so things are done right
some of my installs can be found at my temp site:

looks as if the parking brake is non-operational now... if the parking brake pedal is depressed, does it smash into the kick panel?
i was always under the impression that the engine hood latch had to be moved if one were to add kick panels...

the parking brake pedal was shortened slightly and clears the kicks no problem and can still be easily pressed by the foot.

i will put it up in the forsale section...same finish, same speakres
