also the JL 12W6 i have the wiring for the voice coils in series.
in the manuel it has 2 wiring diagrams.
1. VOICE COILS IN SERIES.
2. VOICE COILS IN PARRELLEL

is series better or parrellel. what is the difference....
i would like to make it hit very hard.

also my amp to sub wire is very thin so tomorrow i am going to buy the thicker wiring because i heard if it is thin...full power isnt going into the sub. is that true ? should i get thicker wires for amp to the sub. thx

omG...i have so many questions.. i know -,.- sorry about that.

also i had no place to put 500/1 amp with my 4 channel hifonics amp. i had 250/1 and hifonics amp screwed to back of my trunk but 500/1 is too big for that space. my friend who hooked it up told me that he has a VERY BIG SUB BOX that will fill up the almost whole trunk for the 12 inch sub. and he said there is a place where it doesnt rattle and he is going to screwed the amp at the back of the box. should i get this BOX? his giving it to me for free.

The 12W6 is dual 6 ohm coils....wire it to get 3 ohms to the 500/1. The JL amps put out thier rated power from 2 ohms to 8 ohms, so it doesn't really matter how you wire it I guess!

12 gauge wire should be good enough. If the sub is dual 6 ohm, wire the sub in parallel acheiving a total of 3 ohms. Assuming if the JL amp is 500 watts @ 2 ohms, you will receive slightly less power than that at 3 ohms. You will probably get around 375 watts into 3 ohms.

You usually NEVER want to attach the amp to the sub box.

That's odd. Never heard of an amp that runs the same continuous power to variable loads.
