I've been having problems with my Viper remote start....
The alarm came with my car when I bought it last year, and everything has been working fine up until last month. Today, I went to go remote start my car because I was in a hurry, and it cranked for more than 15 seconds but it wouldn't start. I got in the car and it automatically started the second I put the key all the way in the ignition.
I tried it again when I got home and it did the exact same thing.
The only other problems that I have been having with the Viper alarm is that sometimes when I press the lock button to lock my car it will remote start too. Normally remote start is programmed as the lock & unlock buttons pressed together on my remote.
I'd love it if someone could tell me whats wrong with it. Thanks!

Well, when you unlock and the remote start triggers, that's probably a power/ground problem. When the voltage drops too low on the alarm, the aux outputs can spike, and that's a symptom (seen it before).
I thought the TL had an OEM immobilizer. The crank-with-no-start sounds like one of the following:
1) The immobilizer is not working. It could be a power problem too, or a ground problem.
2) The ignition wire connection is bad.
3) The power connection for the realy harness is bad. Since this is usually where th installer graps 12V for everything, if that one connection is intermittent or loose, it could cause these problems.
It definitely sounds like it's install-related. On the one hand, you have no install warranty. On the other hand, a lot of Viper shops will take care of you if it's easy.
If you know where it was installed, you might be able to bluff your way on getting it fixed under warranty... but I think you want to pay for a reputable install shop to check it out. If your install was a hack job, you don't want them back in there...

where it came from or if it is easy to install...It was there when I bought the car used. I haven't had a single problem with it so far.
