ipod Remote Control

Hey. Does anybody have an IR (wireless) remote for their iPod? (its called the naviPod). I am wondering if it will work through the center console if I have the iPod sitting in there? Thanks.

If it is Infrared...I believe it needs a clear line of sight. So unfortunately, I don't think it will work. An example of an IR remote is most TV remotes. If you cover up the IR transmitter on the remote or the IR receiver on your TV, then it usually will not work.

i was just looking at that thing. im thinking that i may use my PAC SWI-X to learn the functions of that remote so that i could control my iPod through the steering wheel. installation would have to be pretty good though... we'll see, we'll see

The problem with that thing is that you have to use the headphone jack for it to work; you can't use it with the line out/dock connector. I was going to buy one both for my iNmotion speaker set and for installation in my car, but the quality line out signal is more important.

No, exactly my point. You have to get your audio from the headphone jack to use that thing (think like you are using it WITH the headphones)...if you get your audio from the bottom (dock connector) the remote doesn't work. So it's EITHER good sound OR remote. I have heard horror stories about how shitty the sound quality is with the headphone jack.
