iPod interface for 2002 OEM with 6disk changer

As my title says I have a 2002 TL with the factory OEM radio and 6 disk changer. i have been looking for a wired ipod interface solution and have found an issue with iSimple and USA products specifically stating their product does not support factory units with "built in" disk changers. I called Crutchfield and they confirmed this. They said the only solution I could go with would be an FM modulator or cassette interface

Has anyone found a wired unit that does work and if so what is the model number?

I would rather not go with the FM modulator or cassette solution and do not want to replace my headunit.

Thanks!

Sorry but this information is correct. You need the single disc + tape player Bose deck to work w iPod interfaces. The 6 disc deck plays home made CDs so you can just burn some music and go that route.

Nope you'd be able to retain those without any changes or issues. Without much of a search at all I was able to find you this: http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...id/0/SFV/30046 there may be a better price still but I didn't look too hard.

Check out Gromaudio. I have a 02 TL with OEM headunit, with cassette, and built in 6disk CD changing and I use the ipod interface all the time.

The only problem I have with it is that, there's no option to switch back and forth if you want to control the ipod through the headunit or the ipod itself. For me, if i start the car with the ipod already connected, I can only control the ipod through the headunit, but if i started the car and then plug in the ipod I can only control the ipod itself.

Here's the link

just make sure you choose the correct car specific adaptor. It'll tell you which wire to select.

Thanks to all....so i went with a refurbished single disk from an 01 TL. It is in like new condition and comes with the anti theft code for $135 (including shipping). A little more than others that are out there but my interior is in almost perfect condition so this will look great.

Next is to pick my aftermarket iPod interface!

Thanks again to all!

Feixjai your changer is in the trunk. That's a different headunit than he was mentioning. If u have a tape deck the interface will work fine. If you have IN DASH changer there's no interface.

I hooked up the Blitzsafe adapter in my 03 CLS & that worked fine. Only gives you volume control from the steering wheel controls but it charges the ipod fine. Track control is done from the ipod.

My 2001 TL single disk head unit arrived today and will be installed next week. I will most likely be getting the USA iPod adapter to go with it from Crutchfield.

How to get to the AUX port to install iSimple

I'm installing an iSimple iPod interface in my 99 TL tomorrow. Is there an easy way to get to the Aux port (relatively easy?)
I looked through the DIY sections and didn't see one for this.

Thanks.
