Interior Speakers Help

I was wondering on how deep the speaker can go into the door panel. I'm not sure if i should order a 16 cm x 6 1/2" or 13 cm x 6 1/2". i'm referring to the sizes for the RVF series for MB Quart. please let me know ASAP.

thanks.

In your 1963 VW Beetle you should be able to get at least 4 inches of speaker into the panel.

Oh.... you're right. I didn't understand the code at first. My bad.

I did a few searches and found no measurements posted for the depth of a TSX door. If I were under this dilemma I would role my window down, pull the door panel and speaker free. Then measure the distance from the window to the metal speaker mounting surface. This would give you the exact specs of your constraints.

Do some searches on what other people have put into their TSX doors. They may not be the same as what you have but you can look up the measurements on those speakers and compare to your quarts. That's what I did before buying my DLS seperates.

For instance: I am using Infinity Kappas, and they just barely fit. I had to really force 2 of them in, but they do fit (with standard Accord after market spacers!). That mounting depth might be a good guide.

I'm using bully's advice and making my own spacers for my Focal 6.5" speakers in the TSX. I'm going to do it in a kind of trial-and-error method by first making a 3/4" spacer, then adding on to that if needed. I'll post my result (when I actually do the install) here for everyone.

I can't confirm it anywhere but for some reason I remember the number 2-5/8". I think if you go deeper than that then you have to increase the spacer thickness.

I have DLS MS6A with a 1" spacer. Not sure the depth on them, but they are very large.
