All,

Not sure if this has been posted before, but i couldn't find it from the search, so here goes.

One of the many reasons i pick up my 05 RL is its capability to play MP3/WMA. Not that i am not happy with the sound, but more so the looks.

I have tons of MP3/WMA ripped from my years of chinese/taiwaness CD collections and when i brun the CD/CDRW, all of them are organized by singer/album/song title (of course, in traditional chinese characters) but nothing shows on the display other than number and english characters (if any) when i play it in the car.

Of course i knew this limitation when i test drove with my WMA disk and it sure didn't stop me from bringing it home. But i keep hoping as time passes, someone will come up with a patch/upgrade/hack or whatever to make the system recognize and display the media information in multibyte characters (if not all of them, maybe start with traditional chinese... please?? ) correctly.

Anybody has any idea about this topic?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but I think you're SOL on a hack. The firmware would have to be written to recognize Unicode and also have the script system font available. I would suspect that it would be extremely unlikely for someone to develop a work around. I wish you luck though.
