Interesting onStar hacking article

For those of us with 2003's with navi... I noticed that Slashdot has a story about how some people are finding that they can modify their OnStar unit to make it work with commercially available mapping software after disconnecting it from the OnStar network.

Includes a link to step-by-step instructions which aren't really useful for us since if we have onStar, we have the navi system. Still, anyone else think of other things that can be done?

Cool, as you said, but since we already have the Navigation system, it's redundant.

It'll be nice when somebody posts on how to clone your hand held cell phone to the OnStar system. Although comparatively expensive, I really like the stealth install and hands free setup of the OnStar telephone.
