Hwy sup red, first off that Kenwood is a great piece of equipment. You would need a metra single dash kit for ur TL, part number 99-7892

actually the kit is 99-7868 if memory serves me correctly. the one above is for a first generation TL. as far as installing it I'm not sure about in MA, but here in memphis average going rate to install indash dvd/screen is about 100-150 including parts. it's not to hard if you know what you are doing or have a competant installer.

850 is not bad as far as installing it that seems pricey though $200 i should be upping my prices in that case lol. I usually do it for below 100 depending on the application.

Great headunit, I have the 915dvd and am very happy with it. I payed about 200 for the install of my all in one as well, they even had to charge me more becuase they had to route and install the antenae for the tv tuner. If you havent installed a headunit before, I would def recomend having professionals install it, there are a ton of wires. You will only need the wiring harness and a dash kit to use your factory speakers, however you will lose you factory sub. Since you are upgrading your headunit, do you have plans to upgrade your factory speakers?

If all you are doing is swapping the factory head for the Kenwood, $200 sounds high to me for labor only. If it included the kit, harness and any wiring, that would be better but, still high. If you mount the brain under the passenger seat, it can all be done in 2-3 hours. I know because, I have done it three times in my own 2000TL. I would think between $100-150 would be better and at $150, they should provide the kit and harness. As for integrating the factory system, if they plan on keeping the factory sub and the steering wheel controls, then $200 may not be enough. That is alot different than just swapping the head unit.

Is there a way I can wire up my screen/dvd player and still use my factory sub or am I going to have to deal with losing it and getting aftermarket subs for bass.

well Is there a way though? I mean I like the factory speakers and sub but I know the speakers sound like crap without the sub. I just wanted to keep the sub until I have more money to put a system. I mean eventually I'll put in a system, but money wise I won't have enough for the setup I want for a while, so until then I'll have the screen but only the four door speakers? I don't know just wondering if I could keep the factory sub and still use it with an aftermarket Indash dvd/screen.
