installing amp in my car

has anyone here installed an amp to the factory radio?? If so how does it sound?? Does it power all 6 speakers or just the all except the tweeters. Im guessing that the front 6 1/2s and tweeters are components w/o crossovers. what did u do about those?? If i install the amp do i have to change my tweeters to a higher wattage one or should the factory tweeter be ok. i have all pioneer speakers in the doors and back but FActory tweeters in front. Will my tweeters blow if i dont get aftermarket ones with the amp??? i plan on getting a 4 channel amp at 25-35watts per channel. Nothing too powerful. i just want it to sound better with the looks of the stock radio.

I had a my amp hooked up with a 10" sub. The Factory Bose system does not have pre amp outs. So theres extra money to pay. But my system sounds good (would sound better with a new head unit) enough for now.

I was running my stock head unit on for my system using high level inputs for my amp. It worked good until I got a new head unit and ran RCA's. It made a huge difference. If you can't afford a new head unit, adding the amp will do the trick for now but look to get one in the future. You will like it.

so how much money is it to convert the inputs to the amp? is there like a converter kit u can buy?? Is it even worth it or should i buy and aftermarket head unit also. Im just afraid of getting it stolen b/c at my work ppl are always getting their cars breaking into for even shitty jead units. Maybe the thieves are just doing it for fun.. i really want to keep the factory look but have better sound also.

I paid for the installation of the amp and a line level adapter. The line level adapter was like $20 extra dollars.

!

If you're not dealing with a Bose system, you might be able to use the speaker-level outputs from your head unit to the amp; if you're using a Bose system, you'll need a line output converter.

As for speakers, that's a matter of personal preference; no one is looking at them, so if you can find something cheap that sounds good to you, so much the better! Sometimes that's all people change in their systems.

Happy listening!
