Install Ipod
Install Ipod
I'm looking for some help in installing an ipod adapter in my 2003 TL. Specifically, is there an easy way to remove the factory deck to plug the adapter in, and is there an easy way to run the ipod cable under the gear shift into the center glove box (where the power outlet is)? I'm hoping to avoid removing all the wood trim and stuff. Thanks.
Some of the trim you have to remove. No way around it. If you have small hands you may be able to plug the connector into the back of the radio without having to take it out. I was able to. Once the side panels are off you can route the cable. To get it into the glove box you will need to drill or cut a small hole.

Do you know if my factory-installed radio will have the port required to plug in my Neo ION unit?

I'm not 100% sure on how the cd changer plugs into the radio, if it uses RCA's there may be a dual input Blitzsafe adapter.. Or there may be a seperate input for the CD changer.. But for that price I would wait and try and find a used 01-03 TL factory in-dahs 6 disc headunit.
