Can it hurt? I can get a good deal on another capacitor, I already have one at home for my audio install.

Is it overkill or will it help?

 

Not needed unless you are running crazy power out of your amp. One cap should do fine.

How many farads is the first one you have? Whats the total wattage of your system? I guess it couldnt hurt. I have a 1-farad cap for my system. Amp is about 600 watts bridged.

1 Farad cap
System will probably be:
PG ZX475TI - 250x2
PG ZX400TI - 400x1
Alumapro S210 (dual 10s in a sealed box
Diamond Audio Hex S600A 6.5" components

 

You know I have those same amps - I'm using a Phoenix Gold XSC 1.2 Farad Cap - the black one with the lightning on it. PG is supposed to be coming out with a Titanium Series cap that will match the finish on the ZX400 series amps.

BTW - that system is gonna kick dude

ive got 2 amps, slightly bigger than yours, and the 2 factory amps still running. no probs

 

Dude, theres no way that the PG ZX400TI is going to be enough to push 2 Alumapro 10s! I'm pushing 1 Alumapro 10 with a ZX400 and its not enough (speaker is rated at 450).

PG coming out with a matching cap? Sweet! Whens that happening? I tire of my dash lights dimming.

 

What!?! Dude you need to check your crossover settings on your amp. That sub is rated 250~400 watts. Mine bumps! We have the same sub/amp combo Maybe my Alpine Sub EQ helps too - who knows! Or maybe you just want to shake all the bolts off your TL

Isn't it a 1 farad cap for every 1,000 watts? He will need one (the one he already has) for his system, but what the heck, if you're getting a deal, go for the second, but you have no need for it. Maybe it will make your system look better. All the cap does is on hard bass beats, it provides extra power to your amp to pull your sub back because when it pushed, it drove the voltage down. So, even with the system you have, you will hardly ever be using one amp. It's your system, though, so make it look good and be proud of it.

And a ZX400ti is MORE than enough to run 10 alumapro 10's....I did a few systems with that setup INCLUDING our BMW show car
