icelink vs. blitzsafe

need some clarification...

just read a ton of searched threads and i'm seeing lots of info but no answers

1) whats the major difference between the icelink and the blitzsafe adapters? (all i see is that the icelink lets you use the steering wheel controls)
2) which one do you recommend? (i'll pay the extra $$ for better sound)
3) where can i buy for the best price, and whats the correct model for an 03 tl-s?

Thanks in advance

OK, I get my info the same place you do, but the Icelink uses the Blitz/SHOND adapter for the sound interface - its only value-add IS the steering wheel controls and the charging (if you get that model).

All the iPod users who ise shuffle don't care, and they don't buy the Icelink. Every few weeks Dension backorders the Icelink for TSX owners because they are out of SHONDs.

IceLink is an interface that allows you to use steering wheel controls and charge your ipod. As elduderino said, IceLink uses the SNHOND3/BlitzSafe adapter as well to input the sound from the ipod to the auxillery input on your stereo. Therefore, no matter which route you go, the sound quality will be the same.

The SNHOND3/BlitzSafe adapters sell for approx. $100, and can be found at many car audio stores and online shops. On the other hand, the IceLink unit will cost approx. $220 (including the SHOND3/BlitzSafe adapter).

Yep. Also, the IceLink does come with a nice holder (minus the car clip) for the ipod. When configured properly, the IceLink method will probably end up costing around $250, but it looks much better as well. As soon as I get my ipod, this is the route I plan on taking.

the icelink wouldnt be compatible with another make so i could just switch it out, correct?

Actually, the IceLink would be compatible with any car that utilizes the Sony CD changer interface, I believe. You would just have to purchase a new audio adapter to replace the SHOND3/BlitzSafe since it is for Honda/Acura models only.

Whichever is cheaper at the time of your purchase

Honestly, I don't think it matters.

okay, so now i'm ready to buy, which model works for the 03 tl-s?

I20_Honda_R3 ice>Link Plus for 2003+ Honda Accord, S2000 / Acura TSX $229.00

I20_Honda_R2 ice>Link Plus for 1998-2004 Honda/Acura $229.00

I think it's the R2, correct?

Well, the first one is only for the Accord/TSX, so it's either R2 or none. I would call IceLink to be safe, though.
