Does anyone have info about how this unit and its data interface?

I'm hoping to start on a project that will push more information to that display, but I'd like to know what I'm dealing with before I get too far into it.

I was hoping there would be something about it in the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual, but $50 is a lot to spend just to find out.
