how is your subwoofer box mounted

I have a 12 inch sub in a sealed box. Until now its just been sitting loose in my trunk, but it slides around a little on sharp turns.

Any recommendations on how to secure it? I was thinking about trying to strap it to the side or something like that. I don't want to screw it down because I want easy access to the spare if I ever should need it.

Thanks....

I bought some of that no slip carpet padding from home depot, and cut it to be just smaller than the bottom of my box, when folded over a couple of times, it wouldn't work for autocrossing or anything but it doesn't slide around for 95% of my daily driving...

and since the trunk panel kind of angles a bit, I ended up putting another piece down in the middle to help support it, also try to find the thicker stuff so you don't have to fold it over as much

at least that way you don't have to bolt in or cut anything, good luck

i used two strips of wide industrial velcro attached to the bottom of the box. it does not slide around and is easily removable.

Mine is just loose but it's a tight fit.

It doesn't move around at all.

I think I'm going to see if I can find my cargo net and try that, maybe with some velcro under it too.

Mines been loose...and because of that I always take it easy on the sharp turns... I'm sick of that.

cargo net did it for me. It stopped my sub from sliding from thefront of my trunk to the back and I also kept my bra in the netting and that kept the sub from sliding side to side. combined with a 10' speaker wire lead to the sub box makes for an eassy access trunk.

on the velcro, works really well. I got mine at Home Depot. You can't see it when it's in your car under the box, and it shouldn't be more than a dollar or two.

Keep in mind - you only need to put velco on the box. (Just make sure it is the right side of the velcro). The velcro will stick nicely to the trunk floor. You may want to use a staple gun to further secure the velcro to the box, but this is not really necessary.
