How to locate a switched, hot power wire in fuse box

Have a 99 TL, trying to direct-wire a radar detector and a GPS. No responses on my thread asking about which fuse others have successfully used with an add-a-fuse, so I'm going to try to just tap into a hot switched wire.

Anyone have a lead on which wire to use for this? The direct wire kit from passport has a little tapping clip.

Thanks.

There are little plug-in sockets located on the upper left of your driver legs. Just look under there with a flashlight and you will see several of these plug points on a panel. Take a voltmeter, black to ground, and touch red probe to each of those pins in the sockets and turn the key on/off to see which one gives you power. But that's where it is. Do not pull a lot of current with your devices from there. It's best to use a relay connected to your devices which will pull the current from the battery terminal.
