New deck

I just replaced the stock head unit after having used it for a while in a pseudo bose/aftermarket setup. Sounds a hell of a lot better and cleaner. I too was hesitant about ripping up the dash and using a face plate, but it worked out well. They only charged me like 250 bucks for labor which included a kit. Its really not hard to make if you have some know how and the right tools. You can tell from the pic its not perfect, but it looks just fine. There is going to be slight differences in the texture and color unless you pay an extraordinary amount to get it perfect. I've heard people paying up to 600 bucks just for the face plate alone, but it looks damn good!! You could also try getting some fake wood to match the dash you have to touch up the edges or do something creative. That is another possibility.

that looks fine to me, i wanna make a 2 single din dash plate though, and mount a single dvd and my pioneer 8400 together in the dash. i think that would make the huge face look better, and ill be the first, i hope

I was thinking of a plate that could house one single-DIN headunit and a V1 remote display.

I kept my stock Bose head unit - cause the car is a lease, but put in new amp, speakers all around and sub. Nothing too trick, but the sound is amazing compared to stock. 700 watts does wonders for the sound...

Actually the system is ok, except bass. NO BASS AT ALL.

That's why I installed the Infinity Basslink. Huge difference!!!

See sig block. Not sure, but from what I have read in some of these posts, it looks like some have not done what is necessary to ensure the proper voltage is present at the input to the amps. The SOUNDGATE module deals with this. The gains of my JL's are not cranked up, and I get more volume than I ever need from my system ... also, I have the 10W-7 aimed to/through the passthru, as opposed to fireing towards the rear. No/NO rattle from the spoiler, and this thing rocks!

I hadn't thought about that, but I would guess it would look pretty good. Only if it was the silver one and not a gold package emblem.
