How to get sub working

My sub stop working after I installed a dvd deck. Well now that the deck is in and the person that did it for me is not around anymore, how can I get it too work? I dont want to pay a bunch of money for someone to simply add something. I was thinking of buying an amp and wiring it somewhere not sure where.

I have no qlue how to get the deck, I seen it done and it was really complicated.

Last resort is to bring it to a shop. What would I need to tell them to do? and roughly how much should it cost?

I seen that link before but I just thought there would be a way so that you dont have to open up the whole car to get to the deck.
