how do you remove the speakers....
i have a 96 2.5. how do you remove the speakers from the front door and rear? is it hard to do? do you just take off the grill and then unscrew it? or do you have to take off the door panel? what about the rears?
and just to confirm, are the front for the 2.5 6.5" and the rears 6"x9"???
thanks

There is a screw right where the handle that you close the door with is and also one behind the handle where you open the door. If I remember correctly those are the only two screws. The panel is then held on my clips. You have to unplug the power window controls and the door lock controls from the panel too, but that is after you get it off.

Hey jz983,
Did you get the front door panel off using the above instructions?
Was wondering since I need to take the panel off to readjust my window from going up too high.
It touches the trim on the car when I close the door.
If you could provide any helpful hints or issues that you ran into when removing the panel would be great.
thanks,
Mola

yes, WAMPUM is correct. This is what you do for the door speakers:
unscrew 2 screws (one in the slot next to the window controls & one at the door opening handle) once those are unscrewed, the rest is just clips. to open the clips, i just stick a long screw driver up the crack on the bottom door panel and pull the handle toward you. this will unclip the clips on the bottom and then i just use my fingers to upclip the sides. as you unclip all the clips, be careful not to just pull off the panel because there are clipons behind the door panel that are used to power the windows, the light bulb at the bottom and the plug for the blinking security light. unplug those and try to remember where each plug goes to when you put it back. a helpful hint.... to put it back, start from the top (just put the door panel into each of the slots next to the window...then plug in the clipons, and then simply snap back the door panels.
as for the rear (yes they are 6 x 9's....the fronts are 6.5) you just open your trunk, lay in there and face upward toward your 6x9's....unscrew four screws that are used for the grill and the rest should be easy. good luck!
