Hifonics Brutus Amp - Protect Help

I have a Brutus amp, and my car sat in the sun on the hottest day we had this year. When I fired up the car, the amp went into protect mode, I'm assuming from overheating. I yanked the fuses out, and killed the circuit breaker that powers the amp, however when I turned it back on, it goes to red protect. Now it still powers on, and the LED's on the top light up. Just wondering if one of our amp gurus knew anything about this and knows how to reset it? I swapped it out for a spare amp, but would really like to get this working again if possible. Thanks guys.

Amps don't really have resets like that. Power off, power on, and if it is still dead, then you have a new paperweight.

But always bench-test the amp outright first, this will eliminate any shorted RCA's or some other issue not visible in the install right away. If it passes the bench test, then you know something's up w/ your wiring. If it doesn't pass, then it either goes to service or the trash.

Only two differnt occassions my Hifonics amps went into red protect was:
When I was running it at .5 ohms slaming or when a sub shitted the bed.
And either time they still worked fine after letting it cool or disconecting the bad sub.
The amp sounds like it's done.
I've beat all 3 brutus's I've owned and never had one quit.

Exactly right, always bench test without any other part that the system is comprised of, to eliminate them from contention.

Already had this amp rebuilt once, as my buddy that I got it from blew the bridging chip. Tried hooking it up in my friend's yukon and got nothing. Looks like it's time for another rebuild

I'm already running on a backup amp, going to find out what the rebuild cost will be and go from there. I've already been screwed over on a few amps, so I try to stick with what works
