HFL: Sounds Scratchy

I'm currently using a Motorola V600 with the HFL. The caller's voice at various times sounds scratchy, almost like am radio. What is this a function of? Could this be defective car speakers? Is the voice coming from the speaker above the steering wheel? Is this a problem with the phone itself or the service provider (AT&T)?

Does it sound like crackling? I posted this first in Nov. with a T616. When someone is speaking, it breaks up a little. I never bothered to fix the problem

I had this problem with my SE T616. I found that simply lowering the volume below what you would normally expect to set it at resolved the problem.
