this is a stupid question but what tool is needed to take off the rear speakers?

Which rear speakers? Rear door or by nines?

Stick a screwdriver under it and pop it out. There are two clips in the front...you just have to push on them to release them. Then there are two snaps in the back and a peice of metal that holds the back into the rear deck (make sure you slip that in first when you put the grills back on). Good luck!
