Adding an amplifier and new speakers is the first step towards better sound (well, 'louder' sound).

Actually, while a sub will help SQ, for the loudness you need more power and more capable speakers.

You can fix that problem by upgrading the amp and the 6x9s and the F door speakers. Replacing the 6x9s with a sub sounds better, but is not required...

To do an audio upgrade in any car, decide what your budget is, and decide if you're doing the work or not. THis will tell you if you need to budget for pro install (if you are in the NYC area, you can go get your work done at Street Effectz and get the kind quality of work...)h
You can get the Front speakes, R 6x9s and a 4-channel amp for like
$700. You can get better SQ speakers and the amp for around $900. You can get a system with fronts, a 10" sub, and an amp starting at like $800. None of those include install.
