headunit

I tried to search and didnt really seem to find a straight forward answer. Can I change the speakers in the CL to aftermarket and still leave the oem headunit in?

I'm confident you can.

Why couldn't you?

The only thing is that you might not be able to use the stock Bose amplifier.

I put a head unit in first and there was an issue hooking up my speaks to the headunit but they figured it out.

Something to do with the Bose amplifier compatibility which makes me think you would run into the same issue vice versa.

I believe the issue is that the stock bose amplifier has an output signal of 1 ohm. There are not very many speakers that can run down to 1 ohm.
But im sure you can do it where you run a seperate multi-channel amp, bypassing the stock bose amp. I think members have done that. but you have to do wiring to all 6 speakers.
