There are no aftermarket headlights for 2nd gens, you can get 03 headlights or make your own

The reason people do custom is so they can get exactly what they want. So for us to tell you what to do with your headlights doesn't make much sense.
Now, to get them apart, I've found that 200 degrees for 12 minutes in the oven works well. This is what works best for me. You will have to watch your headlights to make sure you don't burn anything. I'm not responsible if you fuck up your headlights by putting them in the oven. But what I do is grab a cookie sheet, throw some aluminum foil on it, and put the headlight on top of that. Then grab a couple screw drivers/pocketknives/whatever and pry the headlamp apart. After that, it's easy disassembly stuff and you can do whatever you want to your headlights. I'd suggest getting all of the stock silicone out, and replacing it with new silicone. Don't short the silicone when you're putting the housings back together. More is better. You don't want those nice new headlights you worked so hard on to leak...
