Have a question about installing new headunit on 01 TL

Okay I have a 12" alpine type R hooked up to my factory bose system, now I got this done at a shop with a line out converter, I dont really like it so I went and bought an Alpine CDE-9881 and I got the metra honda/acura wiring harness and metra dash kit. Now can I still leave that line out converter in and how then whould I need to hook up my subwoofer to be controlled by the new head unit. Also do I need anything else to hook up my new headunit.
I tried searching but couldnt find an exact answer

You should be able to run your rca cables from your amp straight to your new head unit. No need to use the LOC. If you have the head unit, wiring harness and install kit, you are all set. You will just need some crimp tools, butt connectors and things like that.

It would be a waste of money to have the new deck and not use the subwoofer pre-out on it. Get rid of the LOC and run your amp straight to your deck. You'll be much happier. Better bass response. More control over sub output. Crossover and attenuator settings.

-EDIT

Be sure that you run an extra ground from the metal brackets in the dash to the chassis of the deck. If you don't do this you will have problems with AM/FM reception and deck output audio. Your OEM deck was mounted to these metal brakets and thus GROUNDED. Your new deck will be mounted to a plastic dash kit and will be missing this ground. The ground wire in the radio harness is not sufficient in your TL.

Hmm how should I go about removing the LOC, I dont really know much about it or how they installed it but I see it they mounted it on the top of the inside of my truck near the factory bose sub, should I just cut the wires to it or what?

Wow.... That's quite the shortcut. Just cut the wires. Also, It's easy to remove your factory subwoofer from the top. This will help get more bass inside of the car.

Ok step one is to ensure that the LOC they installed does not have speaker wires coming out the input and outputs if it does you will have to cut the wires then put them back together.

I know this is a rare configuration but it is plausible.

If it is not set up like this then just cut the wires but make sure to seal off each end. if they touch it could potential short the audio system.

And on removing the factory sub don't to it till you have everything set up and running. Then test the system with it in and out. Different aftermarket subs produce different results. Depending on your subs they could sound better with the stock sub in not out. Basically your missing your trunk either an enclosed or ported box.

Decide for yourself it is not what others think sounds better it is what you think sounds betteer. Your the one who is going to listen to it the most

That was the best attempt at giving advice I've seen in a while. Thank you for your input.

Could I please suggest that you have a professional installer do this work for you? It is clear that you don't have experience with car audio. I would definitely recommend that you don't attempt this install yourself. I appreciate your honesty and admitting the fact that you don't know much about car audio.

Well im almost done just I have a problem. I got my whole car interior torn apart and I got my wiring connected(I think) but I cant get my subwoofer to work with my new deck. Also I didnt even touch the LOC I just unplugged the RCA's from it and just connected them straight to my new deck....It shouldnt be a problem that the LOC is still there and wired to whatever its wired to right?

Bah I cant figure out whats wrong, I cant get my subwoofer to work right...I can see there is bass coming out of it but its very very faint and not loud at all....I looked at all the connections and stuff and they look fine, also controlling the subwoofer from the deck does nothing too

Did you run the remote wire?

Do you have it grounded?

If you have run two different amps and two different subs then you have narrowed it down to something in the wiring or head unit itself. Are you just running one amp in the system? Just a sub amp? It is run from the head units sub or non fading preout into the inputs on your amp? Crossovers on the head unit and/or amp are set properly to lowpass? Does the head unit have a subwoofer on/off setting? Just a few things to double check.
