happy with basslink?
is everyone that has the infinity basslinks happy with them and is there any reason not to get one all im looking for is a little more bass than the stock system...i found a couple on ebay for 215 and 218....good prices?
I'm happy with mine... it's adds a little punch. The biggest advantage is you don't have to tear up your car to install it, just run the power.
mine was $236 shipped off ebay.
www.ikesound.com has them for $240 shipped.
I would also recommend the remote control, cheapest I saw was $26 on www.crutchfield.com

I love it!
Mines installed where Jasont's is, just on the opp. side. Does anyone have theirs mounted sideways in their trunk? (mounted 90 degrees from how Jasont's is). I was hoping to get a little more trunk room space by mounting it sideways but didn't want to ruin any sound.
Also, If you do get a basslink, get the remote switch that allows you to adjust the bass according to what you are listening to. I have mine run up to the front between the drivers seat and the console. I can adjust on the fly.

Thanks for the info, It looks great. Did you wire up yourself, or have someone install it? I heard you can just tap into the wires going to the amp in the trunk, but I haven't spoke to anyone who has done it themselves.
Thanks again for the advice.

Mine is mounted 90 degrees from the one in the pic... If I remember I'll take a pic and post it.
I had mine done professionally, and told them to put it where they thought would be best...
The remote is a MUST!!

don't know about you guys, but i just don't like the way the basslink looks. looks like kinda out of place or something.....i just can't decribe it. plus i've heard others say it sounds like crap....but i guess to each his/her own. plus if you're gonna run a power wire from the battery to power the basslink, might as well get a stand alone amp and a separate sub, like a 12 inch. the hardest part, i think, in installing a sub is running the power wire from the battery. the rest is just tapping into the remote wire of the bose amp to get the remote turn on and tapping into the rear speaker wires for signal. that's just from my experience.
MY stereo shop mounted mine sideways in the back , drivers side of the trunk. They said there were some funkey sounds and rattles when they put it in the front of the trunk. You need to move it around and see what sounds the best before mounting it
here's mine, however I want to move it. It sounds great but I hate the location...
I recommend one, I paid $420 from crutchfield when they first came out...Very nice sound for the size...
I agree that if you are going to run power from the battery to the trunk, mise well just get a full setup. But has anyone tapped into a power lead in the trunk? And if so, where is it at? I would install the basslink only because it was really easy to do.
if your going to power an amp, it would be best to run the power wire straight from the battery. i think the gauge of all the power wires in the trunk are like 18 or 20 gauge. you need a bigger wire to power an amp like 4 or 8 gauge. i have a 4 gauge wire running from the battery then i split it into 2 8 gauge wires via a power distribution block. you'd like to get as much current as possible to power the amps that's why you need bigger wires.
