Got a New Toy ......

Got new sub. Wanted something lighter weight than the w7. The W7 weighs total of 120lbs with the ported pox.

I bought a MB Quart 12" Premium with sealed box. http://www.mbquart.com/en/produkte/c...php?nr=pwh_302

will post a review after the sub breaks in properly. So on Saturday or so I will give a review.

Are you running the MB in a ported box? It will be interesting to see how that sub would compare to the "famed" W7.

I will be doing sealed at 1.2cu ft. I am trying to save some weight in the car. I also have a Eclipse Aluminum 12" thats in the TL running in a sealed box right now and will install the MB tonight. I bought the Mb quart to see how it compares to the Eclipse. Most likely I will keep one of them and sell the other in black market.

Hows that IDMAX, How does it compare to the TDX 10" I bought from you.

Sounds like a plan.

The IDMAX is great. It still does not compare to the TDX setup in my former TL. But, that box was ported, built to spec. The box I built for the IDMAX is sealed and a small box, around .7. That is all I could fit in my space. It still sounds great. Of course, I ran the TDX with 1,100 watts from the Memphis Belle. I was running 525 to the IDMAX and it sounded great. Hopefully, my Audison amp will be here today and I can get back to running it. The Audison will give it around 500 or so. For whatever reason, I have not been able to build a system as good as the one I had in the TL. Went thru the F-150 with tons of different setups and nothing was as good. I ran a Stereo Integrity Mag 12" and Rainbow Germaniums that was pretty darn close but still not quite. The MDX is getting there. I am thinking about swapping the Chameleons for the new XS comps from ID. But, it's still good.

The Diamond D9 are some good sounding speakers check those out. You had the Diamond Hex in the TL right. Doesnt the Alpine w200 only have a 2 volt preout also.

Yes, it does. Kinda limiting compared to the older Eclipse units I ran in the TL. That 8 volt preout sure was nice. I tried some Zapco Reference with the Symbilink and that technology is awesome. More volume with no more gain equals awesome. I actually ran the models right below the Hex. Right before they changed to the new models that are out now. They were awesome. I had Hex's in other vehicles and thought the models right below were better. I never could get the Hex's to sound good.

After changing out from 10 differ alpine units I went to eclipse. After the 9815 I got the Eclipse 8454 (8volt). The Sq was better and more volume. Now I got the 8053 with the balance box that is 16volts. Holy moly I didnt think SQ could get any better but I was wrong. And after that I upgraded my speaker wire in the front doors. I am running Stinger Expert 14 gauge from the Crossover straight to the amp.

this thing is a beast. The output is amazing and clear. I must say in the first hour of listening it just blew me away. I never like MB quart woofer until now. When I say this thing I had to have it. Here is a couple pics of it. Its no W7 but I must say it competes along the line of the w6v2 in SQ and SPL.

yep, thats the first thing that got me interested. Sub has a huge voicecoil also. Most likely I will use it for a month and sell it. I dunno I just like testing subs and buying new ones. I want to test out more 10" subs next.

I wish I had more room. I would love to go to a 12". But, I would have to give up cargo space to do it. The 10" IDMAX on 500 watts from my new Audison is sounding better and better though.

It looks sick. Does your license plate rattle? Mine seems to rattle when closing the trunk, so I'm afraid that a sub will make it rattle all the time!!

Heard good things about the SR sub. I can personally vouch for the 10 or 12 inch IDMAX. My favorite subs.

I got the 10w6v2 from a audio shop. Got a great deal only payed $320 with tax and JL grill. Now time to get a ported box built for it. Pics of it next to its big brother.

Always buy JL authorized, heard the JL stuff from ebay has serial #s ripped off. And some serial #s are below the spider.

Oh yeah, I still have pics of that setup with the Memphis Belle amp. I loved it cause you popped the trunk and all you could see was the fins on the Belle.
