good ground in trunk

good ground in trunk

can somebody please post a picture or directions where thye have grounded their system in the trunk. i put mine near the spare tire however my syste, dims and i am told that the ground may be the problem. thanks

I scraped the paint off the trunk floor and used the net tie down. The dimming probably isn't your ground...in my experience that is usually caused by the system draining excess power and the altenator can't keep up. I would spend the extra cash and get a cap. Even if it doesn't solve the problem it will be worth the added security.

Take off the white hook on the left side of the trunk. Sand the area with some sandpaper to expose the bare metal. Screw it down tight. Obviously you'll be removing the trunk lining to get to it.

my original ground was under the trunk floor, by the spare tire. then i gounded it at the white hook. this still didnt get rid of the dimming and i bought a 1.2 farad cap today. hope it gets rid of the dimming otherwise i will get a new battery. maybe that will work. thanks guys

Have your battery tested under the load of your stereo. Sounds like it's not cranking out enough power. If it's the original battery, that's probably it.
