GEX Questiones

Hey, I was wondering, Since I have been searching all over the internet for a AVC-RGB1, and still cant find any, Is it possible to use the GEX? and what is this onscreen menu all about? is there a way to memorize it instead of buying a seperate screen, cuz I dont have that much cash to spend (I can get the GEX for cheap my friends dad owns crutchfield.) anyways, what is the purpose of the onscreen menu and do I really need it? if not is it possible to use the gex like the avc and get video out of the navi screen????????
Thanks

yeah the gex screen can be used... as for the on screen display i know that vlad over at clublexus has found a way to get that to come up on the stock lexus navi you might want to talk to him and see if it would work with the acura navi... what kind of price can you get the gex for... if you can get that good of a deal send one this way...

the gex unit is more functional/complicated than the avc unit. both accept input and put out video, but the gex unit has a tv tuner. using either unit normally means adding a pioneer monitor to the unit's video output port. when you rig up either unit for use in our cars, we bypass this port so with the gex unit, none of the tv tuner's displays appear because it's probably tapped early in the processing. having the avc unit means you are going to add video sources separately and therefore, any and all menus would be fed through the video out. i am not familiar with the gex unit at all, so you might want to get the owner's and/or installer's manuals to see how this works. if you can set and forget, then borrow a monitor for the setup.

as a side note, vlad's mods doesn't require the pioneer unit because he tapped the unit's output port (the end of the processing chain).

I dont know about that price, the GEX sell for over $300. I'm sure you could find it cheaper but not for $30.
