changing '97 console units to '98

Have a '97 acura 3.0cl.

See if you guys can help me with my electrical problems, if not I may sell the car :-)

I tried to change the '97 console clock (which looks different than the '98 and '99) to the '98on clock. The '98 clock fits in perfectly, but nothing comes on. So I bought another one, that didn't work either.

So I ignored it for a couple of months.

Last week, I attempt to change the OEM Acura BOSE CD player to a 1997 Honda Prelude Acoustic CD Player (DINs fit perfectly; I know, only 1997 fits, 1998-on won't work)

Originally, I had the factory CD which worked perfectly before I removed it to replace with the 1997 Honda Prelude CD.

Once I removed the factory CD, and put the 1997 Honda Prelude CD on, the anti-theft light was on and flashing so I assumed it worked, but nothing I did (put key in ig, turn car on, keep pushing "ON" buttom) could actually turn the unit on so I can hear the music (basically, I didn't even get a chance to input the CODE).

Strangly enough, then, I put back my factory CD back in, it won't work either!!! (the same problem, just keep blinking of anti-theft light regardless of what I do).

It doesn't matter if the car is completely off (key not in) key on (ig. on) or car running the CD Player anti-light keeps blinking as if nothing happened at all. Even when the car is running, the CD unit blinks and nothing happens when I press the switch. I have the anti-theft code for all my units.

any one could give me some advice?
If not any reasonable rate place I can take it to to have it diagosed... I live in the The Bay Area, CA.

thanks,
wesley
