Ok so i went to the stereo shop and talked to the guy there a bit. He wanted to go with a summing device from JL audio, i forget the model. Is this really necesary? I do want the best SQ i can get but in all the threads i have read i have never heard anyone with a TSX mention installing one of these. Im putting in a Directed 1000 5 channel amp i have, keeping the MB Quartz 269 i have in the rear deck, and i think just bypassing the back door speakers to go with better ones up front. He recomended a good set of focals up front. He quoted me like 559 for em and i found em online for like half that...
ideas? suggestions? Anyone know a reputable shop that does good work in the Bay Area?
Thanks

If your amp has differential inputs (most don’t) you can go for a direct connection to the stock HU. Normal car stereo amps use unbalanced line inputs so you will need to convert the balanced outputs to unbalanced. It is best to do this as close to the power amp as possible to avoid noise pick up by the unbalance signal cable.
