Free air sub

Can anyone recommend a good quality free-air sub that can be used to replace the stock sub? I plan on doing some modifications to the torsion bar so that I can mount a 10" sub in the stock location.

Thanks!

I have an infinity kappa that can be used in free air apps. It sounds good in my sealed box

On the ATL site, someone has already replaced the stock 7" with a Kicker 8" (I think?). It barely just fits. Do a search, I'm sure it's there.

I've done that already. The kicker 8" is not a true sub though, its more of a midrange. I'm looking for a true sub. The kicker is free air though. BTW, the stock sub is a 9"!
I'm looking to put a 10 or maybe even a 12 if I can make it fit!!

You are correct, it was a mid bass driver. It will be tuff to fit anything more than an 8". I was thinking of running 2 free-air 15s...

Well I plan to make some modifications to the torsion bar so that I can mount any depth sub I want into that area. I'm pretty sure a 10 will fit there (diameter wise) but need to verify for sure. I'll see if one of my friends has a 10" I can borrow before I make any modifications. I wouldn't mind a 12 if it would fit. But 10 would probably give me just the right amount of bass I'm looking for!

That sounds great, keep us posted and PICS! But would you still use the stock amp?

I definitely will! Wouldn't want to keep my fellow TL/CL bro's in the dark!!

As for the stock amp, I wouldn't be using it. I already have a phoenix gold amp mounted in the trunk so I'll see how that pushes a 10" 300W sub (if that's what I end up getting). Otherwise I'll probably just get an alpine mono amp and push the sub with that!
