FM transmittor vs tape adapter for ipod
I was wondering which would sound better, using iTrip or similar product or attaching the tape adapter from my Sonydiscman to the ipod headphone jack and putting that into the tape slot in the deck.
Thanks

The FM will give you distortion throughout which disrupts the sound quality of the song. Use the adapter instead! If you are worried about the wires, then do what I did, which is a very clean setup.
Open your arm rest where you will see two bottom screws, unscrew them.
You will see wood grain on the sides, gently take them off, they are clips.
You will see screws then on the sides of the center console, unscrew the ones that are holding the arm rest in place.
Lift and unhook the plug located underneath it.
Now, you can put in the IPOD cassette adapter into the player, and run the wire down into your " Not a ash tray plate " and then to the sides where the left side wood grain goes. Run the wire on top of the screws or below it. After, go to your cup holders that are located within the console you took out, and drill a whole small enough for the jack to go in. Run the wire up and connect it to the IPOD. When you did that, reverse the steps I told you and put everything back together. You have just made a clean setup for your IPOD cassette adapter and you can close the cup holder section with the IPOD in it for safety reasons. Hope you like. Take it easy.

But of those 2, I'd use the FM modulator. I never had luck with those tape adapters in other cars. They got stuck, or sounded garbled.

I think I'll stick with the tape adapter. Now if only I could find my tape head demagnetizer from years ago to clean out the tape deck a bit! I wonder if anyone sells that kind of stuff anymore!
