Street, I must say everytime I see a new car you have worked on I am thoroughly impressed. In a market where originality counts as much as sound you never seem to run out of new ideas, I hope to get enough money to have you work on a system for me someday. . . .
Black, If you look closely the bax is actually rasied up off the floor of the trunk by what looks to be an inch to an inch and a half. By the looks of it, I am guessing that is a sealed box and I don't know what kind of subs those are, but I am betting that the airspace underneath that box is designed to vent into the cabin.
Am I right Street?

Street, i had a similar question about the subs facing down, how can you do that? How much room is necesary under neath? Is that a sealed box? Can you do a little expalnation on how that set up of the subs facing down workks...
Yes, the box is sealed and is actually about 1.5 off the floor, but more towards the front it gets deeper due to the wheel well. The box is designed around the "stealth box". I did an install of a Stealth box in a 2001 Dodge Ram where the sub enclosure goes under the back seat with the subs about 2" off the floor and it sounds incredible.
The subs actually fire into the spare tire compartment...there is a meshed window, which I will take pics of that allows the air to flow....next step it to actualyl tune the box. We fired it up and it sounds great. Of course, the box is built with certian specs, taking into consideration the inside is angled with mirror and fires to the floor.

I don't mean to give you advice on a project that you obviously already have planned out
But I think having a chipped edge to that plexi would look very very good...that's what I'm going to do on my setup...
Also...go check out my post in Audio and Electronics about the system I'm about to do...I want your (and anyone else's I can get) ideas and advice...

Yeah, I hear you on the edges of the plexi....it would make the neon stand out a lot more, but, we wanted everything to look FINISHED.....although I much prefer the semi cleared look for neon reasons, I think it looks like the installer just got lazy and didn't polish them, therefore making it look incomplete.
Lemme go take a look at your project

Yeah I agree with you...you have to do the chip right or else it looks terrible...chipping off at the wrong angle...too even...or too much and it's over. As for my project you've probably found the thread but it's here:
