Has anyone here installed an aftermarket double din in a 2008 equipped with factory navigation,xm tech package? I have the metra kit with climate control that works fine, radio turns on no sound from speakers. I've hooked the power antenna/remote wire from the head unit to the blue wire on the harness adapter. From the wiring diagram it should go to A1 yellow with a green stripe audio switch. That should be the power on of the factory amplifier. Still no sound

Do I need to bypass the amplifier completely? I've searched on google, watched a few youtube videos, from what I've read in here in the faq's I'm just not seeing an answer. Or mention of anyone using the factory amplifier anymore. I'm not trying to go all out with a system just wanted different. Mainly because my screen shows a white and black checkered board and I can't control the fan speed or vent selection.

I'd suggest just making sure that the yellow/green wire in that OEM harness is seeing 12V when you have the new radio on. Maybe the metra harness isn't lined up to that turn on wire correctly?

I tried sending power to that wire from the remote turn on from the head unit. Also tried the illumination wire like the person who I purchased from had it in his car. No luck
im pretty much over it. Just going to source a screen, have the amplifier modified through healtoe and wire in a sub later on. Thanks for responding.
