Finally, I got my amp/woofer installed...

I had these in my CL-S and when I sold it, I had them taken out. The amp is a PG Titanium 2 channel with a Kicker woofer. Very good sound but cost me a bunch too.

Finally went to Cartoys and they installed it for me today. Amp is installed behind the rear seat in the trunk, with sub sitting in front of the amp. Nice set up, nothing special so I did not bother with pictures. Oh! Cartoys charged me $200 for the install and I paid it since I figured they would stand behind any fuck ups they might make.

If anyone is running a stock sound system, I would say get an amp/sub installed. While I was waiting, I noticed Cartoys had packages with amp/woofers installed for $300. That is a good price and it will make a World of difference to the sound.

The one thing I love about my amp, is that it has a booster knob so I can dial the woofer up or down. It is mounted on the dash and it is nice to be able to tweak it on the fly.

Woot!

Above picture shows my back seat pushed down with the amp mounted on.

This is one with the sub pushed out of the way to show the amp.

This one is how the sub sits when in the trunk.

Hope this helps.

no. I bought the subwoofer and found the box on Ebay. If I remember correctly, everything cost me around $1k. But it was worth it as I knew I would pull it out when I sold my Acura.

Also, I reiterate, buy an amp where you have a know for boost adjustment on the sub. Sometime, when I change CDs, the bass distorts. It's so nice being able to just dial it down.

The pictures are a bit small and I did not want to post a huge ass photo....

I'm happy with it. Only question is what is the difference between a sealed box versus mine, but believe me it packs plenty thump as is..

that is total BS. I can understand if I am running a full blown system but I am running stock.

If that box is so bad, then that makes all Basslinks entirely useless, which it is not.

Anyway, I just posted pictures for you reference.... please do not make decisions or call names on a judgement situation...

Your system could sound so much better if your box were built to spec. Kicker subs have been known to need lots of air space and you're constricting it, therefore your system probably sounds a bit distorted with frequencies all over the place. I'm assuming you don't really care much/know much about audio which is why you shopped fleabay for a package deal. Thus you paid $1200 for that setup. wow.

Don't compare your set up to a Basslink as it is an entirely different thing and the enclosure that the Basslink is constructed in, IS BUILT TO SPEC.

If you post pictures, or make any comments, be ready for criticism. Take it with a grain of salt, or take it to heart. That choice is yours. All our comments are to help you get the most out of your equipment.

Everyone is just trying to help you get the most out of the equipment that you already have. You could build or buy a cheap sealed box built to spec for that sub, and it would make it sound better. You probably wouldn't get the distortion that you are getting now at times.

Think of it this way. Would you wear a size extra small shirt around eventhough you would probably fit and function better in a shirt that was your size? Probably not since you wouldn't be able to move and perform as freely and comfortably. That's basically what you're doing to your sub.

With that being said. It's your system, and if you're happy with the sound, then just leave it the way you want it. In the end you're the one that listens to it everyday.

I really can't see your box but im sure its a sealed box. if you ever decide to make your system sound louder by getting someone to build you a box to its specific dimensions (or you can buy one online thats made for that sub), be sure to get a ported box. well if you like boomy bass, i suggest port.

don't take peoples negative comment to the heart. sometimes people say it in a mean way but we all care and want to help you out. its no big deal about your box, we're all just saying that if you are restricting bass by the box you have. its no big deal..
