OK, I'm replacing my stock bose sysem with new everything. I'm just replacing the speakers/HU/Amp I have, not adding anything extra.

My question is how much of the existing wiring can I use to hook up all the new equipment? Specifically, can I wire the amp with the existing power/ground/speaker wires that are currently running to it? Or I am going to have to rewire everything?

Anyone with experience please advise. Thanks

I got the Alpine MRP-F240 . Its 40x4. I just wondering if I can get away without the hassle of rewiring.

you pretty much have to rewire everything, or you are asking for trouble. the bose system runs every speaker at 2 ohms with 7 watts rms. this allows the speaker wires are very very thin, and new 4 ohm speakers and a mrp-f240 will not work at their best with the thin stock wiring. its a real pain in the ass, but I would say definitely rewire everything. you should probably do the power and ground too while you are in there, since you will have to take the car apart some for the speaker wire. depends on the size of the power into the stock amp though, anything higher than 8 gauge I would replace, personally.

Sorry to take over the thread, but is there a brand of wiring that you would recommend? Or would any brand do just fine?
