factory speaker specs
factory speaker specs
Anyone got the factory speaker specs?
Ive got a couple pairs of the Polk Ex's that i could drop in, but i have to remove them from my old car and put them in the TSX.
more or less debating whether or not its worth the effort, or just wait till i can afford the dB's.

You might benefit from a search of this forum and the other one linked above.
Maybe we could figure this out. Here's my guess: 360 Watt system (according to Acura), 8 speakers, so it must be 45 Watts per speaker to start. The rear speakers are 6x9 and handle the real power of the base so they are probably rated a little more than 45 Watts, say maybe 60 W. Similarly, The tweeters in the dash probably don't need all the power, say maybe 30 Watts. So my guess is as follows:
tweeters (dash) - 30 Watts
mid/full range (doors) - 45 Watts
subwoofers (rear deck) - 60 Watts.
There have been several people that replaced the stock speakers with Alpine Type S but still driven by the stock amp. One of them posted about having to turn up the volume for similar output but then more recently there have been posts that the volume levels are about the same. So my guess is the stock speakers are 92db.
Any ideas?
