Factory Antenna Wire?

Team,
I would like to replace my factory deck with a new HU tucked away in the center cubby, however I am unable to locate the antenna wire that plugs into the back of the stock HU. Does Acura use a standard Antenna in or do they have a proprietary system? Does anyone have any pic's of what the back of the factory center console looks like? Would I be better off purchasing my own Antenna setup?

Do not buy your own. It's connected to the back of the factory headunit and you can get to it without taking out the factory deck.
Just take off the Center storage compartment. Reach up and to the far right bottom corner of the back of deck. The factory antenna is plugged into the deck there. It's the standard black antenna cable that most Honda have. You should be able to feel the wire running into there. You'll going to pulling away from you towards the engine bay. It's a biatch to get out the first time, but it will come out. I don't think there is a clip attached to the wire, but there good possibly be. You may have to cut this.

I have an aftermarket deck too and that's how I disconnected mine. You may have to purchase an antenna extension depending on how long the wire is and how you're new HU is mounted.

Good Luck and let me know if you need more help.

Thanks I will try this later today. I took a Dremel to the cubby and I am setting it up so I can still close the lid with the Deck behind it, I think that would be kewl. I bought a steering wheel controler so I can still use the steering wheel controls.
I cannot belive I could not find it, I spend about 2hrs trying to pull the center console out, I guess I will try again tonight.

Now...that I think about it more...I seem to remember having to bend a metal tab in order to get clearance to pull out the antenna plug. I'm not 100% sure if I had to do this or not, but I just thought I would mention it. Good luck!
