extending abs computer help

hi, i'm working on some kickpanels and the passenger side has an abs computer.. so, i have to take it out and extend it to allow equal airspace inside the two kicks. now that i have time, i've been shopping around and yesterday i went to the local radio shack to buy some primary wire to find that regular 14 guage primary wire is not stranded. its just one fat copper wire. so, should i use 14 or 16 guage speaker wire instead or does it even matter? thanks for your help in advance.

why reinvent the wheel... qlogic already makes kicks that will fit the tl.... as for the wire to extend the abs computer i would use the same gauge and properties that the stock wire is...

i definitely wouldnt use that solid wire for anything in the car. since it isnt very flexible and the sheilding is thin, it usually strips easily. find some stranded copper wire. id be wary of using speaker wire though.

i have the qlogic kickpanels but i want to make a sealed enclosure for the speakers. i already made a mold of the floor.. but i'm redoing the passenger side so the air space inside will be the same. so, we'll rule out the solid wire and the speaker wire.. what kind of wire and where do i buy then?

if it was me doing it i would go to acura and get another one of those wiring harnesses that you are trying to extend... then i would get a connector that matches the stock wiring harness... so the new wiring harness with be just an extention harness that way when you are done you can simply unplug the new harness that you made and return the car to stock... and this would also solve your trouble of what wire to use...
