Error 3 on Stereo

I just purchased a 98 2.3CL that needed a new engine. I swapped the motor and everything works except I'm getting an Error 3 message on the stereo. Any idea what may be causing this message?

according to the users manual, there is no such thing as an Error 3 for the CD Player.
there is however one for the optional CD changer, indicating it's malfunctioning.
Just get a new CD deck. the stock deck sucks.

I dont know if it is broke, but every time you pull your battery you have to reset the codes on the radio blah blah. From what I remember, that being a couple years ago before I knew my codes, i punched in many series of number and it gave me err 1,2,3,4 etc until I pulled my battery to get the codes off the back of the radio. Get the codes, reset your radio and try again. I am just running off memory from 2 years ago. Good luck.

that happened to me, if you just take the fuse for the radio out and put it back in you should be fine, it might ask for the security code after which should be in your manual somewhere on a little card

Well, I tried removing the fuse and putting it back in. The err 3 message showed up again. I entered the security code and nothing. I was hoping to get this to work until after the holidays so I could purchase something better later. I guess the answer was made for me. LOL

97BlackAckCL was right, there are 2 O2 sensors, on before the cat and one after. I replaced both of these. They are a bitch to get out, easy to put in.

Thanks everyone for their replies.
