Enclosure needed!!!

I have 2003 TLs. A lady friend just brought me an alpine Type-R 12” sub and Alpine V12 amp. I need an enclosure for the sub. Should I go vented, bandpass or sealed? What are the differences among these? Thanks. Ohh yea newbie speaking!!!!!!!! My budget is 150$

Sealed boxes are the most accurate, but are not as loud as other designs.

Ported boxes give up output below the port tuning frequency, but allow approximately 3db more output.

Bandpass boxes are tuned to put out maximum decibels within a certain "bnd" of frequencies, which makes most music sound unnatural.

I would say with a 12" sub, either sealed or ported, depending on the sub's specs.

For a basic or first setup, I suggest sealed. I'd only move out of sealed boxes if you're going for tuned, serious thump, or competition sound systems.

A local place should be able to get you a sealed box for $50-$70, or make it yourself for $25 of parts + labor, you need a woodshop or equivalent tools too.
