elduderino, need some help

hey, i just got my 06 and decided im definitly going to juice up the stereo.
i know you have posted the wire colors for the older models and that you can connect directly to the pre out of the HU.
however since the tweets have their own output i was thinking it might be easier to just replace the front speakers and add a sub. ii plan to run a 5 channel JL amp from the 4 rcas, scrap the rear 6x9's in favor of a sub.

the question is this . do you know what speakers fit the best in the TSX? i was thinking about going MB quart.
do you know what fits in the dash for tweets?

and as for voice activation and voice commands as well as HF operation have you run across any issues with amplifing the signals that normally run into the stock amp? all i really want to do is bypass the stock amp and run a separate amp. i would run the stock speakers and cross them over if i had the time to build a crossover for the tweets and run them off the same 2 channels as the door speakers.

you got any suggestions?

The dash will take many tweets, including the small Q MB Quarts, but it won't take the Dynaudio or the big tweets from many makers. Plenty of depth, but you can't hog the hole out without pulling the windshield or dropping the dash.

As long as you are acing the grilles the front tweets are pretty easy. You can retain the grilles with the Refrence MBQ tweeter, I bet, with a little custom work.

so are you saying you can remove the grilles and replace the tweets without removing the W/S or dash? do they just pop out?
what is the mounting bracket that holds the stock tweets look like? is it just a hole with screws around the perimeter or do they make a cradle bracket and screw the tweet magnet to the bracket and secure in the hole?

everything just pops out. Stick a screwdriver under the edge, and it will pop out. The actual tweeter is mounted inside a "bracket", the bracket is actually the grille. So you could pop the stock tweeter out and put another one into the grille.

Personally I just popped out the stock tweets, used a knife to make a little more room, and dropped some polk db's in. It was very easy.

The tweet snaps to the bottom of the grille. Comes out of the dash if you yell "boo".
