DVD unit bypasses

hi guys, can anyone recommend a nice DVD Unit that will play DVDs while the car is in motion on the unit's LCD, not the headrests...? Most of these units won't play while in motion unless hooked to headrests, is there a simple bypass procedure for these units?

There is a reason that they do not display video on the main monitor while driving. Anyway, you can bypass it on some models. They are getting more difficult in many cases. Just be sure not to hit me while you are watching TV.

I wasn't trying to be an ass, so anyway...some use a negative trigger from the parking brake, some use a combination of e-brake and foot brake pulses, and some are done through a built in gyro. So it really depends on the unit.

If you're insinuating it's because we have too many lawyers in the states, I agree.....These same units are not confugured for motion lock in Europe... land of the free indeed

Figure out this one, Pioneer AVIC-N1 upgraded to AVIC-N2 Software, it does not have that open area of the mainboard to solder two points together. Lockout as soon as you start driving and unlocks as soon as you stop in motion.
If you can figure this one out, i'll praise you genius.

Alpine's use a PAC piece called a TR-7 it comes preprogrammed to do exactly what the Alpine Bypass is needed. It is literally meant for that.

Pioneer is still ground out the e-brake, but sometimes you do have to pulse it,
on the AVH-P5700DVD, you still have to go e-brake up down up and then press ok on the screen. That you can use a TR-7 and program it or else just get a toggle switch hooked up to the park brake wire of the screen.

Kenwood is strictly just hook up e-brake

Pioneer Navigation systems have a gyro lockout, there has been info spreading around on how easy it is to bypass it now.

At this point in time, once you have already upgraded the software on your N-1 to N-2, you'll have to re-format the HDD... (Only Pioneer can do this, as they are the only ones able to re-install the O/S and install the original software)

After receiving the N-1 back in original configuration, DO NOT INSTALL THE N-2 DISC..... instead, make copies of your upgraded disk, copying each file on a seperate disc. You'll see a map-update, a dvd update, and a few others.... only install the map update.
